12 th Asia International Conference On Leather Science And Technology

18 October, 2022 in Palmerston North, New Zealand

BRINGING YOU UPDATES ON THE LATEST ADVANCES IN THE FIELD OF LEATHER SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

It is our pleasure and great honour to be hosting the Hybrid 12th Asia International Conference on Leather Science and Technology at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand on the 18th -20th Oct., 2022.

We can promise you that the conference will offer a program containing all the latest advances in leather science and technology. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we invite scientists and industry chemists from across the globe to join us for this joyous occasion to foster international communication and collaborations across the leather community, and boost advancement in leather science and manufacturing technology.

01

Advances in Basic Leather Science

Discoveries in the hierarchical structure and chemical modifications/interactions of collagen fibres in hides and skins during conversion to leather.

02

Industry 4.0. Detection and Traceability

Discoveries leading to rapid changes in technology and processes increasing interconnectivity and efficiency.

03

Cleaner leather production and closed-loop processing

End-of-pipe treatment methods alone do not meet the requirements and hence, in-plant control measures are gaining importance. A new era of cleaner technology has begun in leather processing.

About

About the Conference

Leather is a material optimised by nature. No other flexible sheet material has been made which has so many inbuilt and desirable characteristics.

The 12th AICLST Conference seeks to foster strong and lasting bonds between leather scientists across the international community and those companies engaged in leather production as well as the chemical companies who deliver the products used in the manufacture of leather. The programme will cover the latest advances in leather science and technology, including topics ranging from structural studies and chemical interactions at the most fundamental level to application of advanced detection techniques, methods for cleaner leather production using more benign reagents and novel uses for some of the industry’s by-products and waste streams.

In conclusion, the three-day programme promises excellence in science, along with practical examples of science impact in the drive towards more sustainable leather production.
